Now that we have a good understanding of the setting, we can dive into the story - or lack thereof. For a game designed by a legendary studio known for their epic tales, Anthem will fall short of capturing your mind and heart. Part of this is due to the fact that there is a lack of choices that alter the course of the narrative. Their performances are quite compelling, but the story that surrounds them is unfortunately cookie-cutter. Once again, this harks back to the aforementioned comparison of another online-multiplayer action-RPG — Destiny.
Even compared to recently released The Avengers Square Enix, , the experience of launching off the ground and firing into the air takes a while to get old. Tied to the flying is the combat, which is equally rewarding — at first. The skills you learn depend on the Javelin you choose. In regards to the Javelin suits, you have the nimble, melee focused Interceptor; the hulking Colossus that eats damage for a living; and the all-around Ranger that is focused on all areas of combat.
The game is endowed with a rich open world, but it is not capable of striking the imagination with its size. The game's plot tells us about a cruel world created by the gods. Once the gods were able to curb the great power of the Anthem a kind of matter and energy in the game , with the help of it they began to create a new world, but they never completed it, leaving us. The anthem was left without a master and there was no one to restrain its power, therefore, rifts began to appear in the world and cataclysms began to appear, from which giant creatures and aggressive monsters appeared.
Humanity is trying to survive in this difficult world for life, they have created technologies that help them in this difficult task.. The player is given the opportunity to become part of a group of Freelance pilots who control technologically advanced exosuits - Javelins. Each suit endows the pilot with opportunities inaccessible to ordinary people: free flight, fast movement under water, effective and unimaginable combat skills that make them unique.
Over time, Anthem will develop and expand — introducing unique stories, challenges, and world-shaking events. This world is both beautiful and deadly — and will test you on each expedition you embark on with your Freelancer team.
